Fine Watch Repairs

Murphey the Jeweler 2 is proud to announce the additiion of a full time professional watchmaker to our team.

Chris Abell, originally from England, now a US citizen living in Tyler Texas, began his career as an electronics engineer. He says, "More years ago than I care to remember, a gift of a pocketwatch turned my interest to the inner workings of time pieces."  He began a thriving watch trade and completed specialized formal training in watch-making school.  As a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Abell maintained a perfect grade point average throughout his studies.

Abell has an extensive list of returning customers not only from the USA but worldwide who seek out his specialized skills in antique pocket and wrist watch repair and restoration.  Of course, this level of expertise means we can meet all of your repair needs from a basic quartz watch to a modern mechanical wrist watch, including all your prestigious watch brands and cherished collectible items.  You can be assured that your timepiece will be in safe hands with his extensive experience over his years of certified watch-making.  As a passionate collector himself, he understands the value you place in your items entrusted for repair.  He can often be found giving advice and training online to many home hobbyists and fellow watchmakers.

"One of my greatest pleasures is in cleaning and servicing fine, high end wristwatches," Abell says.  "The more complicated the watch, the more I enjoy working on it."

Choose your watchmaker carefully; cheap and inexperienced work can often be irreversible or expensive to correct.  Some delays may occur due to scarcity of parts; complexity of repair and other factors.  Should that be the case, we will update you regularly on progress.

Our watch repair center is located in Tyler and repairs are hand delivered, so there is no need to worry about items being lost or damaged in the mail.

Trust Murphey the Jeweler 2 and Chris Abell for all your watch repair needs.
